Before the establishment of Lukla airport, the route to Everest was from Jiri only. Therefore, the route is also called Everest Classical Trekking trail. The route holds immense legends of mountaineering in Nepal. The route is same from where legendary climbers like Scott Fischer, Rob Hall, Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay and many others embarked on their mission to conquer Mt. Everest (8848 m). The significance of Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek route is the gradual ascendancy. This process of walking towards high altitude is considered as perfect for proper acclimatization. Bus drive to Jagat via Jiri takes trekkers to walking starting point. The trail is full of uphill and downhill walking through green lush forests, waterfalls, rivers and multiethnic villages. You will be surprised to observe the changing landscape, forest environment and people’s lifestyle in every day’s walking activity. The places like Nunthala, Bupsa and Junbeshi are traversed before reaching Phakding. The trail of Classical Everest trekking route also known as Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek meets with contemporary Everest Base Camp Trek near to Phakding. The journey is similar to this place. Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1345meters)
  • Day 02: Orientation and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley
  • Day 03: Kathmandu to Jiri (2,370m/7,774ft) Duration: 8-9 hours
  • Day 04: Bhandara to Sete (2500m/8200ft) Duration: 7 hours
  • Day 05: Sete to Junbesi (2675m/8774ft) Duration: 7 hours
  • Day 06: Junbesi to Nuntala (2345m/76916ft) Duration: 7 hours
  • Day 07: Nuntala to Khari Khola (2194m/7196ft) Duration: 6 hours
  • Day 08: Khari Khola to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Duration: 6 hours
  • Day 09: Trek to Namche Bazar (3441meters) which is 6 hours approximately.
  • Day 10: Taking rest at Namche Bazar for acclimatization.
  • Day 11: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860meters) which takes about 5 hours.
  • Day 12: After a good visit to Monastery, our trail reaches to Dingboche (4350meters) that takes about 5:30 straight hours.
  • Day 13: Trip to Chhukung which is (4710meters) and revert back to Dingboche. It takes you 4:30 hours.
  • Day 14: Trek to Lobuche (4910meters) takes 5 hours of journey and by the end of it we are close to our destination that is Everest base camp.
  • Day 15: This is the day we have all been waiting for as we reach to our destination Everest Base Camp (5365meters). Then we had back to Gorak Shep (5180meters) 8 hours of journey approx.
  • Day 16: Hiking starts as we gear up for Kala Patthar (5555meters) with the first glimpse of sunrise and trek down to Periche (4200meters) 7 hours of journey.
  • Day 17: Now our sublime trail heads back to the place where it all started that is Namche Bazar that takes 5:30 hours.
  • Day 18: After some good rest, we trek to Lukla airport (2804meters) 6 hours.
  • Day 19: We are now quite to the end of our trail as we head back to Kathmandu with the morning flight and travelers gets to enjoy farewell dinner in the evening.
  • Day 20: Guides you for your final flight departure home or may be your next destination.

  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, and early return from the mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary.
  • Items of a personal nature.
  • Personal expenses (phone calls, internet, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, extra porters, cold drinks, bottle or boiled water, hot shower etc.)

Note:

Hotel and Accommodation on Everest Trekking:

We provide hotels according to your request and travel plan in Kathmandu. There are numerous choices of hotels in Kathmandu ranging from budget to luxury five stars. Our Everest Trek standard package includes 3 stars or similar hotel’s accommodation in Kathmandu. The accommodation in Trekking trail is teahouse or lodges.

Transports used on Everest Trekking:

We provide private vehicles (car/bus/jeep) for airport transfers and for sightseeing in Kathmandu. Another transportation we will use is flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and vice versa..

Electricity and battery charges on trek:

During Everest Trekking there is no problem with the electricity. You can recharge your electric appliances like camera and mobile phones which you have to pay some amount. It depends upon teahouses and some lodges they don’t charge for electricity or battery. It is advised to take spare batteries and power bank as well.

Meals and drinks on Everest Trekking:

During trekking you will be given meals as described in itinerary. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. Normal water is free but we request you to carry water purification pills. You can buy bottled water and boiled water in various teahouses or lodges as well.

Luggage/Bag pack on Everest Trekking:

Your luggage will be carried by porters and you can simply carry your back pack. In it you can keep water bottles, camera, jackets, medicines, cream etc. Small trek bag is best for such high altitude trekking. You can deposit your valuables or unnecessary luggage in Kathmandu as well. Domestic carrier allow 15 kg including hand bag and if found overweight then you will have to pay extras.

Guide/Porter on trek:

Trained and government license holder trekking guide will be provided who will handle all the logistics and arrangement of trekking trip. Porter will carry bags of two trekkers and if the group is more than 10 persons then Sherpa or additional guide will be provided.

Group Size, guide and crew member:

Sublime Trails organizes Everest trekking starting from 1 up to 30 pax at once. However, every 10 persons you will be provided a guide. You all will stay in one teahouse but the crew members might be different. 1:10 for guide and 1:2 for porter is used.

Join a fixed date group trek or private departure:

We have Everest Trekking package available for both fixed departures date as well as private trekking. If you wish to join the group in our fixed departures then check the dates stated in our website or email us for the dates. You can choose any date for your trekking and we can arrange for momentous trekking in Everest region.

Personal expenses on trek:

Personal expenses are at your own hand. Normally Kathmandu is cheaper in comparison to trekking regions. You can buy alcohols, daily goods and meals in Kathmandu. There are many shops, eateries and bars where you can choose and spend some money. If you drink alcohol and wants to do hot shower bath in trekking trails then it would be costly. About 10-15% of your trip cost should be allocated for crew members’ tips. In an average you can enjoy the stay in Nepal at just about 15-25 $ per day luxuriously.

Our meeting in Kathmandu:

Once your trip is confirmed you will have to email us your flight details. Our airport representatives will be at airport with the placard “Sublime Trails” or your own name.

Itinerary and changes on it:

Once the trip plans are confirmed you can’t change the plans. However, you can request for any changes like you want to take trekking only instead of Kathmandu plus Trekking. We are very flexible trekking agency and also we are highly customer oriented. We will be happy to customize your trip.

Trekking guide will analyze the situation during the trekking. Trekkers are requested to heed the instructions of guide. Analyzing the conditions of trail and weather as well as availability of accommodation guides might suggest alternative plans or programs. we have 16day itinerary for the Everest Trekking that includes your arrival and

Insurance/Rescue/Evacuation:

In case of accidents, sickness and casualty we will transfer you immediately to nearest health facilities. It is highly recommended that you come for trekking in Nepal with genuine travel insurance which covers your helicopter rescue as well.

Trip Extensions:

If you would like to add more days or extend the trip after trekking then we can arrange for your trip of places inside Nepal as well as beyond (Tibet and Bhutan).

Booking and payment:

20% advance payment is required in order to guarantee your booking. The advance payment is non refundable. You should send us passport copy and flight details. You can pay to us through bank transfer, credit card or any modes of payment suitable for you you then we will forward the detail for payment.

Flight Delay in Kathmandu and Lukla:

Flight is the only option for transportation to Lukla. In case of flight delay due to weather conditions flights might be cancelled. We have kept one spare day in our itinerary as well considering the unpredictable nature of Lukla weather. If the flight is delayed for two days then helicopter charter will be used. You will have to pay for this extra service to our office directly either by card or cash. The average amount extras depend upon the number of pax ranging from 500 $ to 3500 $.
