Day 1:Arrival at Chitwan National Park

  • AccommodationJungle Safari Lodge
  • MealsLunch and Dinner

No matter where you are in Nepal, there are two best options to get to Chitwan. You can either book a convenient flight or get on a bus and explore the raw views of Nepal throughout the journey.

You can get on a plane from Pokhara or Kathmandu to the Bharatpur airport and then get to Chitwan National Park. This takes around 20 minutes. Meanwhile, a bus ride from Kathmandu or Pokhara directly to the destination takes around 5 hours.

After lunch at 1 pm, you'll start the tour to Tharu Museum and Tharu Village in Sauraha. The Tharu museum and village tour introduces you to the communities around the national park, their lifestyles, and cultures.

You'll attend the Tharu Cultural Show in the evening, which lasts a blissful two hours. In the show, you'll see various Tharu cultural acts like Stick Dance, Fire Dance, and Peacock Dance.

After a great tour and the cultural show, you'll head to the hotel where you'll have dinner at 8 and spend the night in Sauraha.

Day 2:Full Day of Activities in Chitwan (Canoeing, Safari, Elephant Ride, Birwatching, Sunset Views, and more)

  • AccommodationJungle Safari Lodge
  • MealsBLD

This is the busiest day of the trip and also the most rewarding. After breakfast at 7, you'll set off on a canoeing session in the Rapti River where crocodiles, exotic birds, and mammals come to the shore and bask in the warm sun.

At around 9, you'll visit the Elephant Breeding Center, one of the world's only two elephant breeding centers. After meaningful time amidst the elephants at the breeding center, you'll return to the hotel for lunch.

After lunch and some rest, you'll head to the Jungle Safari Tour on an elephant ride or jeep ride. Stay attentive for glimpses of one-horned rhinos, bison, antelopes, deer, leopards, sloth bears, and countless bird species.

With 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna, and 126 species of fish, the Chitwan National Park always has something in sight to observe. And if you're lucky enough, you'll get the rare sight of the Bengal Tiger, the king of the jungle, during the safari. Elephant bathing is also in the day’s highlights.

You'll be at Rapti River Beach for sunset viewing in the evening. There are many restaurants at the beach to grab a drink and watch the sunset to the fullest.

    ABC And Chitwan Safari

After completing my trek in Annapurna Base Camp, I wanted to get a feel of a different facet of Nepal. So I asked Sublime trails, who had arranged my ABC trek, to arrange a jungle safari tour in Chitwan. It was a completely different experience to trekking. It was simply satisfying. The animals, the Tharu Stick dance, and birds added a magical touch to the tour. You should be here once in your lifetime.

    Jungle Safari Tour

I have been an avid bird watcher since as far as I can remember. My wife also felt similarly about birds. My kids are animal fanatics who can't get enough of watching the channel “Animal Planet”. So I wanted to give them a glimpse of some of their favorite animals while we were holidaying in Nepal. We booked the 2 Nights 3 days Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour with Sublime Trials. I was as animated as my family members watching these animals. I was hoping that the tour never ended. The kids started to ask me when we would be back again for this tour. I hope we will be there again in the near future. You should join too.
