Namaste and welcome to nepal!

The Sublime Trails representatives will be there at the airport to receive you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu. Just look out for somebody with a signboard saying ‘Sublime Trails’ outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private vehicle.

In the afternoon, we will meet in our office for orientation and briefing you about the itinerary.

You will also receive your Annapurna Conservation Permits and TIMS.

If you are looking for something to do in Kathmandu, there are many. You could go shopping for some handicrafts and world-famous Pashmina to take back home as souvenirs or gifts. Also, there are tons of different restaurants, bistros and cafes around the city that serve a variety of cuisines. You can go out in the evening and check a few of them out. You should definitely try the Natural Nepali Arabica ground coffee while you are here.
After breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara in our private vehicle. This drive will make up for most of the morning as you cruise through a highly scenic highway with so much to see right from the windows of your bus, or your plane if you were to fly. This leaves us with much of the afternoon to explore the various sites in the lovely lake city of Pokhara.

The beautiful Lake City, Pokhara, is Nepali take on Amsterdam and is a tourists haven. Packed with cafes, restaurants and bars this sub-urban city is lit. On peak trekking seasons, you will find the bars open throughout the week!

Other than that, Pokhara is rich with the natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains.

Pokhara also offers the first view of magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, and numerous peaks of Annapurna range. This town is filled with lush vegetations, swift flowing rivers and dotted with clear, shimmering lakes. It is one of the major towns of Nepal. Providing a perfect gateway from the chaotic life in the cities. If Kathmandu is the cultural hub of Nepal then Pokhara is the centre of adventure.
It is an 3 Hours drive from Pokhara to Siewi village where we will be stopping for lunch. We begin our journey through the cultural villages around the annapurna region. After lunch, we begin on an almost uphill trek to Chomrong village for 5 hours.

After an hour’s climb to Kimrung Danda, the sanctuary trail goes uphill to Modi Khola and then continues uphill to the Taklung village to Chhomrong village. After another steep ascent from Kimron Khola to Chere Danda, we descend for a while and then it’s a gentle walk to Chhomrong

Chomrong is a gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary and is mostly inhabited by the Gurung ethnic tribe of Nepal. Stay overnight at lodge in the local Gurung villages and experience the hospitality of the Gurung community.

Watch out for various different species of birds on these trees. This is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers. This route is famous for sighting exotic birds and you will probably hear them chirp all on the way.
Leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends on a stone staircase and crosses the Chomrong river climbing further on a rocky trail. The trail drops down 2500 stone steps and after we cross the bridge above Chhomrong Khola, it is again an uphill walk to Sinuwa at 2350m. The trail is through lush Rhododendron and oak forests to Kuldi at 2470 meters.

The trek now enters the upper Modi Khola Valley. This section of the trail is bottlenecked and we pass through Bamboo. During winters, it is common for it to snow from this point onwards. From Bamboo, it is another 2-hour walk before we reach Dovan where we will be spending the night at a lodge.

We will then descend a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. Then it is then a short distance on a muddy trail to Bamboo Lodge in Bamboo (2340m) where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we will start on an upward climb for another 3 hours to reach Himalaya hotel in Dovan.

Look out for the stinging nettles that may sting you on the trail.
The trek begins as a gentle climb from Dovan via Hinko. It is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching the Hinku Cave. The trail will drop closer to the river before we pass through a muddy trail which will then traverse high above the river. The trail climbs again to Deurali. The vegetation gets sparser, allowing magical views of the valley, the river below, and the sheer rock-face cliffs above with bands of wispy waterfalls.

It takes approximately twenty minutes to reach Deurali from the Hinku Cave.

After an hour and a half walk from there, we will reach the beautiful village of Deurali at 3100 meters. Another gentle climb through a river bed then begins a steep trail over to the mountainside, we reach Bagar. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp is somewhat strenuous.

From here onwards, it is a steady climb up to MBC. Although the climb may not be that difficult, the thin air and the altitude may make it more difficult than it should be. A few more hours and after a climb from the river bed, we reach the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. With the staggering Annapurna Range towering above you, watch out for the beautiful orange groves and paddy fields along the way.

The vegetation disappears on our way to ABC and after a mild two-hour uphill climb, we're finally at the Annapurna Base Camp. At 4130 meters, you will be in the glorious foothills of the magnificent Mt. Annapurna. Right from the base of the 10th tallest mountain in the world, you will witness the spectacular view of the sun rising on the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above us.

The sanctuary boasts of a dynamic view without anything blocking the 360-degree panoramic view of the Annapurna Range. From the Machhapuchhre base camp we again get to savour mesmerizing views of the majestic Machhapuchhre along with Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharva Chuli and Gangapurna and other peaks.
From the Annapurna Base Camp, we retrace our steps all the way back to Dovan, via MBC and Deurali.

Today’s trek is almost all downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up.

Overnight at a teahouse in Dovan.
The path is decent climb to Bamboo passing through forests with varieties of rhododendron, oaks and bamboo plants. After Bamboo, the trail goes steeply up to the Kuldi Ghar and now the trail is quite flat until we reach Sinuwa.

From Sinuwa, it is an uphill trek to Kuldi Ghar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb up the stone steps to Chhomrong and then climb all the way down to the hot springs. The path is mild ascent up to Lower Sinuwa where we will be passing through forests with varieties of rhododendron, oaks and bamboo plants. The trail goes steeply up to the Chhomrong river.

We trek gradually descending to the Chomrong Khola and we go up a stone staircase for almost an hour till we reach Chomrong. The last part of the trail is steeply down to Jhinu Danda. From the village, it is a 20-minute walk to the hot springs at the bank of the Modi Khola.

The trail descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. There are two lovely natural hot water baths right next to the river at the riverbed. You can unwind yourself at the hot springs and pamper your body with a hot bath and the hot water is believed to soothe all your body aches.
The walk to Nayapul is just a small climb uphill from the village, then a zigzag way to Jhinu Danda. It is a walk on a peaceful trail with multiple waterfalls and an amazing view of the hilly landscape of Western Nepal.

We stop for lunch on the way and beyond this that, the trail descends gently crossing numerous streams and terraces to Syauli Bazaar. Followed by the Modi River, we will reach Nayapul in a few hours and cease the trek.

From Nayapul we board a private bus which is an hour and a half drive to Pokhara. Overnight stay at Pokhara/
On the way back from Pokhara to Kathmandu, we will pass by Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach the Manakamana Temple. This temple is sacred to the Hindus and has people coming in from all over the world to pay their respects.

We stop for lunch then leave for Kathmandu again. After a total of 6 hours of driving, we will be in Kathmandu and rest and relax for the evening. We will spend the day leisurely and catch up on some last minute shopping.

To celebrate the successful completion of our journey we will all gather for a farewell dinner with the manager of Sublime Trails and we would love for you to share your great experience.

Overnight at a 3-starred Kathmandu hotel.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 10 Days Reviews

Rated 5/5 based on 3 reviews
  • A good friend recommended Sublime Trails after her great experience trekking with them back in May 2017. My Group did a 10 day trek to ABC with Sublime Trails, I’m very happy that everything was very well planned out and they were very flexible with our requests as well. It was our first trip into Nepal so naturally we had a lot of questions and concerns. Ram was patient in addressing our concerns about the trip and itinerary. Sleeping bags, Down Jackets were all included thankfully! Our flight got delayed unfortunately and Ram checked in with us closer to our date, he was very considerate and thoughtful to arrange another transport in at a later timing for us to travel into Pokhara so we have more time to rest. No worries about needing the money changer or buying last minute gear it was settled quickly as well. Met our lovely guide Mr Hari and Porters (Bhim, Dhurba)in Kathmandu early morning. Hari bought fruits for our trip so we had fresh cut fruits every day at the tea lodges! Was doing this trek with my father aged 66, we had some trouble ascending quick enough to meet the planned itinerary, our guide was quick to make changes to our itinerary and rebook our accommodations along the way. Thanks to Mr Hari, we were all able to complete the climb without stress.  It helps to sit down with the team every night to discuss any concerns for the next day climb, great teamwork from everyone! Big shout out to our lovely Mr Hari for his entertainment, advice, care and concern throughout the trip and our very attentive and supportive porters Bhim and Dhurba! So much fun and laughter along this adventure, truly pampered! Huge thank you to the team for making this trip so enjoyable! See you guys for the next trip out to Everest!

  • Signed up for the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Sublime Trails after a friend's recommendation as they have experience bringing Singapore JC students for trekking trips. Ram replies very promptly to my emails and multiple questions before the trip. He even came to pick the five of us up personally when we touched down in Kathmandu.  Some of my friends were worried about the trek as this was the first time they are trekking and what's more, such a long duration and altitude but our worries were unfounded. Guide Hari, (we call him "Mr. Hari") met us at Pokhara as he just completed a poonhill trek. Even so, he was still very energetic and started to brief us about the trek and ensure we got everything we need. He even brought us to buy some trekking stuff the next day. Throughout the whole trek, Mr. Hari is very knowledgeable about the mountains, pointing out the various peaks to us as we climb (Annapurna I, Annapurna south, fishtail, himchuli etc.). His trekking pace was also very good so that we don't get burnt out easily.  You have to pay for wifi at the teahouses, and because sometimes they were not working due to the weather, we decided to be disconnected from the outside world. Thought it will be boring but Mr. Hari will always try to entertain us, sharing with us his experience, Nepali history, culture and even thought us how to play some of their local card games. Will recommend everyone not to buy the wifi and immerse yourself into the beautiful mountains!  Don't expect very nice food in the mountains. Food was decent, we had dal baht almost every meal as there's a saying: Dah baht power 24 hours! unlimited refill of rice, dahl, and potatoes. We also had noodles, momo, pizza, omelet, bread, and soup. Mr. Hari always makes sure we have enough food to eat and he will advise when we should avoid meat as they may not be fresh. All of us felt that we gained weight during the trek! One of our friends sprained his ankle during the 3rd day of the trek and our assistant guide Suman was very caring, trekking patiently beside him, making sure he doesn't fall again. He also carried the fruits throughout the trek so that we have cut fruits every night.  Shoutout to our porters too, Bibeck and Gongga who carried our heavy trekking bags and sleeping bags. Though they can't speak English well to us, they tried to communicate in their own way with us, always looking very cheerful.  The view at Annapurna Base Camp was spectacular and breathtaking! Pictures don't do justice to the place, you got to be there to experience the beauty of the Himalayans!  Overall, we had lots of fun and laughter, took many beautiful pictures and most importantly, made great memories during the whole trek. Will definitely recommend Sublime trails to everyone and hope to be back soon!!!

  • The boss, Ram, is very friendly and hospitable. He picked us up from the airport personally when we first arrived at Kathmandu and ensured that we had the equipment required for the trek before the start of our trek. After our trek, he also hosted a farewell dinner for us and gathered feedback regarding our trip so as to improve future trek planning. His effort is notable. Our guide, Mr. Hari, is witty and humorous. He is also very knowledgeable about the trek and the different mountains, giving us good advice and information along the trek. He also set a good pace for us, thus making the trek more manageable. Thanks to Mr. Hari, we were very entertained throughout the trip even though there was no wifi. I'll definitely miss the days when we played cards, did poser shots and shared cultural and historical exchanges in the mountains. As we had a few more days in Kathmandu after the trek, he kindly shared with us the various places of attraction that we could go. Eventually, we decided to go Nagarkot and Ram was very nice to help us arrange the transportation and accommodation even though we informed him quite late. A very big thank you to our assistant guide, Suman, and our porters, Bibeck and Gonga, for carrying our backpacks and all the assistance provided during the trip!  From jungle trails to glacier walks, we experienced different types of terrain while trekking to ABC. Along the way, the views that greeted us were awesome! Can never get enough of the rolling greens and snow-capped mountains! Really appreciate the efforts from the Sublime Trails team in making our ABC trek a memorable and amazing one! Would highly recommend Sublime Trails!
