popular and endangered species of wildlife in the area are: Yak, Himalayan Tahr, Snow Leopard (6,000), Red Panda (2,500), Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, Himalayan Jumping Spider and well heard YETI. Also around 118 species of bird are found in this area. Some of them are: Monal, Danphe (Lophophorus), Crow, Mountain sparrow, Kalij pheasant and other rare species of birds.

Furthermore different species of insects are even found in this region. Around 26 species of butterfly have made their home in the national park. Sometimes even Bumblebees are discovered during their flight of foraging.

Even in the high altitude many varieties of plants survive with great struggle against cold and unfavorable environmental condition. The higher ground are restricted to mosses and lichens and only some species of shrubs are present but in lower level alpine vegetation covers most of the area. Birch, Juniper, Blue pines, Firs, Bamboo and Rhododendron are some common tress of this vegetation. Many rare herbs with high medicinal values also grow in this region.

The Sagarmatha National Park protects and conserves the area including dramatic mountains, glaciers and deep valleys with strict rules and laws. So, entry permit of Sagarmatha National Park must be made before going to Everest which is included in our package

Many colorful enchanted religious flag keeps swaying throughout the monasteries and on residential area. They are used for promoting peace, compassion , strength and wisdom. It is also believed that these mantras will be blown by wind to spread good will. This delights the heart when trekking in such cultural place.

Tengboche Monastery is their important sacred place. Many trekkers and mountaineers go to receive blessings and for good luck. Also Mani Rimdu festival pleases and delights many trekkers.

Mt. Everest is not only attraction of this region. There are many various places that one must visit after going to EBC.

Mt. Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Lake is the magnificent pair for stunning view of Everest. One of the world’s most beautiful mountain Mt. Ama Dablam and the world’s highest glacier Khumbu glacier also resides in this region. Kala Pathar, Dudh Pokhari, Pass Kongma are also popular among trekkers.

The gateway to Everest is Lukla airport and famous trading hub Namche Bazaar. Lukla airport holds the record as one of the world's dangerous airport.

  • There aren't many nutritious or healthy snacks in the retail stores in the mountains. You will find plenty of chocolate bars and other low energy bars and drinks, but again they are very highly priced. Also, you can take coffee mixes, cereal mixes, oatmeals and other energy drink powders that will come very handy during your trek.
