The Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking is a spectacular trekking route in Nepal. It falls in the remote and picturesque valley of Langtang and has everything you want from a trek. The view of lofty mountains and beautiful lakes such as Gosaikunda brings trekkers from all over the world.

This region is inhabited by the people of  Sherpa and Tamang communities. This region falls in the North-West of Kathmandu Valley and offers its trekkers an experience of a lifetime.

The Langtang Gosaikunda region is considered to hold religious importance to the people of Hinduism and Buddhism. This region finds itself in the Hindu Mythology and is considered as a holy site for many people. This region also sees many devoutly religious people during certain Hindu and Buddhist festivals.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking route finds itself in the moderate category in the level of difficulty. This trek takes you through spectacular landscapes of the Langtang Valley and scintillating view of the mountains. The trail takes us through many descents and through subalpine forest, gorgeous Himalayan views, glaciers, and beautiful lakes such as Gosaikunda (4,460m), Saraswatikunda and Ganesh Kunda. You will also pass through several villages which have a charm of their own. This route would be the one of the best destinations among the all those trekkers or travelers who want a complete package of culture and natural beauty. It is slowly gaining popularity but it this trek still offers the ‘off the beaten path’ experience.

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking is one of the best trails in the country where you will be able to find yourself in the lap of the mountains within a span of days. We start from the city of Kathmandu and our trek officially starts from Syabru Besi and the highlight of the trek would definitely be the Gosaikunda which is situated at an altitude of 4336 meters.

Our representatives will be at the airport to pick you up and take you to your hotel. You will need to rest after a long and tiring flight. Later in the evening, you can enjoy the lively tourist hub of Kathmandu, Thamel. Enjoy the food and you will be staying at a 3-Star hotel in Kathmandu.
On this day we will have a small orientation in order to prepare for our trek. We will talk to our guide and make sure we carry all the items for our trek. Also, you finish your last minute shopping, if any.

Later, we will visit few UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu. Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. We will spend our night in Kathmandu.
On this day, we will travel by bus and head to Syabru Besi. during the drive, we will cross several towns and villages before reaching our destination. This bus ride usually takes about 9 hours.

On our way, we will accompany with the view of beautiful mountain ranges. This drive can be really tiring. We prepare ourselves for the trek and rest as we will start trekking from the following day.
On this day we finally start our trek. We will start our journey and make our way towards the lap of the Himalayas. We will first cross the Bhote Koshi dam and then cross the Gopcha river. We will be following the route that goes parallel to Gopcha river. During the initial hours, we will spot many terraced farm fields. We will then gradually hike up and our trail will then take us through a populated forest.

This route has several tea shops along the way. We can rest and enjoy a hot cup of tea and snacks. We will also see gorgeous waterfalls on our way to Lama Hotel. After about 5 hours of walking, we will finally reach Lama Hotel, where we will rest for the night.
On the fifth day of the trek, we will be crossing the 3000 meters mark. We will take the route that goes parallel to the Langtang river. After a tiring uphill hike, we will reach Ghora Tabela which is located at an altitude of 3000 meters. We will rest and enjoy our lunch as there are several tea houses available in Ghora Tabela. As we ascend the trail, we will encounter a wide pasture land for the yaks.

We will also have the chance to meet the local people in these villages who are mainly of Tamang community. After about 4 hours of walking, we will reach Langtang village. We will spend the night here.
We leave Langtang village after breakfast and take the route that goes through the large yak pastures. We will go past the villages of Muna and then Singdun. We will rest in Singdun and enjoy a hot cup of tea and snacks. The route will then make way to a rocky path for some time.

After walking for an hour more, we will be required to cross a wooden bridge and finally reach Kyanjin Gompa. At Kyanjin Gompa, we can explore the old Gompa and also visit the Swiss cheese factory to try the appetizing cheese. We rest for the night here.
On this day we will rest and help our body acclimatize with the changing weather and the altitude. We have reached an altitude of 3800 meters, so, it is necessary to give our body the rest it requires and this will, in turn, help us to carry on with the trek without a glitch.

We can explore this village and try out the cheese from the Swiss cheese factory. We can also visit the Kyangjing Glacier and the Yala Peak Base Camp.
We will retrace our steps on this day. We make a return journey to Lama Hotel. We return through the same route that we took early on and rest for the night in Lama Hotel. While returning, we will enjoy delicious lunch at Ghora Tabela and make way to Lama Hotel.
We leave after breakfast and start our trek with a hike up to the Rimche Village. We will rest for a while in Rimche. From here, we descend to the banks of Langtang river. We continue hiking this route which is not so challenging.

After walking further, we will reach Bamboo and again start hiking up to Landslide Lodge. From here we make our way to Thulo Syabru. There are two trails as we cross another bridge. We follow the one that passes through Pahare hotel and walks to Thulo Syabru.
On the 10th day of the trek, we will head to Shin Gompa. The altitude will slowly rise as we will again cross the 3000 meters mark. So, we will be walking for about 4-5 hours in a steady fashion. It is very important that we walk slowly to help our body acclimatize with the rapidly increasing altitude.

As the altitude of Thulo Syabru is 2210 meters, the altitude will increase to 3330 meters when we reach Shin Gompa. On our way, we will come across Rhododendron trees and the majestic view of the mountains.
This day will surely be the highlight of the trek. We will be able to witness the scintillating panoramic views of the Himalayas. We will also get the view of mountains such as the Annapurnas, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang. We will be required to follow a ridge for the most part of the trail and then we will be able to catch a glimpse of the first of the holy lakes. The third lake will be the Gosaikunda (4380m).

This lake is prized by the followers of Hinduism as well as Buddhism as it is of a huge importance and this makes the Gosaikunda one of the most admired pilgrimage sites. The lake is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides and has a great collection of nine other lakes which makes this area one of the most beautiful places to visit in Nepal.
We take the route that goes through the northern side of Gosaikunda lake. We will then ascend the trail and cross the Laurebina La Pass which is situated at an altitude of 4610 meters.

The terrain is rocky but well marked. We will then start descending through the trail and make way down the ridge. We will then encounter a forested trail and make our way down the valley. After walking for about 3 more hours, we will reach Gopte.
From Gopte, we will head out after breakfast. We will start our descent through the ridge and which is filled with rhododendron and juniper forests. We will then reach Tharepati, where we will rest for a while. From here, the trail further descends and we will come across more rhododendron forests. During the descend we will be able to see the Helambu valley and will also see many mountains.
The descent will continue as we make way to Gulphu Bhanjyang. The trek will become relatively easy as we come across a forest trail. During our hike, we will also see the majestic view of the mountains such as Numbur and Jugal amongst many. From there we will reach Kutumsang and from there we will cross a pass.

The trail will take us further down to the village of Gulphu Bhanjyang which is inhabited by Tamang communities. From here, we will be able to catch the view of mountains such as Annapurna and Manaslu.
We will take the downward trail and reach our first stop, Pati Bhanjyang. From here, we will further descend and after a point, we will walk uphill until we reach the village of Chisopani. After reaching Chisopani, we can rest but also can visit the Chisopani Danda. From Chiso Pani Danda, we can have an unimpeded view of the mountains and also visit a local Hindu Temple.
We pass through beautiful meadows, fields and serene villages and reach Sundarijal. On our way to SUndarijal, we will be able to witness the majestic view of the mountains. From Sundarijal, we drive to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, we freshen up and take a rest. Later in the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Sublime Trails to celebrate the successful completion of our trip.
