About Trip

The Ghorepani Poonhill soft adventure is one of those sublime treks in the gentle wild that would be a great deal for greenhorns looking for some wilderness in the lower levels of the Annapurna zone. Our trip starts with a scenic drive…or a wonder flight {travel options} to the lakeside town of Pokhara to begin our trek. The actual hiking takes something like five hours’ leisure hiking between the lodges as we plod through leafy & grassy rural landscape set against the backdrop of some of the Himalaya’s most gorgeous and towering mountains – Machhapuchare {fishtail peak} and Annapurna. Our exciting journey wades across a number of pretty lively villages where we can stopover for a chit-chat with the local people who are well into the routine chores in these parts of the mountains where agriculture is a vital survival option. Our trek in the Annapurna foothills takes us through some of the loveliest areas of this region…

Trekking up to Ghorepani Poonhill in the Annapurna foothills, is a lovely walk that brings us to the best vantage point for an awesome sunrise/sunset experience which gives us a 360 degree view of a lot of famous peaks that literally stops the breath for a moment; The scenery here is a mix of different woodlands, farmed terraces and open valleys scattered with small settlements. Hiking in this area where the elevations are gentle on the body is a walk that stirs the imaginations with the delightful surroundings that we hike through.

The Ghorepani Poonhill trails give us majestic sights upfront of the Annapurna range like no where else; & this also brings in the fantastic Dhaulagiri range which is an added attraction. Some great mountain views are found all along the trail & we are never bored for a moment. Most of the inhabitants in this area belong to the Gurung community whose major source of income is agriculture & tourism. The Thakali & Magar ethnic communities are also found around here & these people warmly welcome you for some delightful home stays. Although the Annapurna Area is the touristiest trekking area of Nepal & attracts hordes of trekkers from all over the globe, you are still likely to find yourself having the lovely green forests all to yourself at many points as you hike the trails hereabouts…& a go-wild jungle safari that offers you encounters with the flora, fauna - & yes, the rare birds of a different kind is your icing on the cake for a true STUDENT EXCURSION of substance…the kind of holidays you’d pass down to your kids.
